You are Not Alone

A Journey of Challenge, Courage, and Hope

I never imagined my life would take the path it has. My legs gave out on me on a wintery January day in 2024. My children dragged me to the car and drove me to the hospital. A quick CTScan indicated that I had a spinal tumor at my T4. I was quickly transported by ambulance to a local major hospital where I underwent emergency surgery. I woke up in ICU paralyzed from my chest down to my toes. The tumor was sent away and came back with the diagnosis of multiple myeloma. Not only did I have a spinal cord injury, but I had cancer. I was dealt a double whammy! My life changed forever right there and then.

I’ve faced days of fear, grief, and uncertainty. But I’ve also discovered strength, resilience, and a new purpose: to stay positive, keep moving forward, and inspire others who are living with life-changing diagnoses and injuries.

Why Did I Create This Website?

I wanted to create a place for encouragement along with resources to help you navigate the hardest questions — because no one should have to walk this road alone. It’s for anyone who has ever woken up and thought:
Why me?
What now?

Moving Forward Together

I am not a doctor, therapist or any kind of healer. I certainly don’t claim to have all the answers.  What I can claim, is that I am a researcher, a digger, and I need to find answers to questions that just don’t seem to be being answered. I also know, from personal experience,  that even in the hardest seasons, there can still be courage, joy, and purpose.

If you are here, you are not alone. Let’s walk this journey — one step, one day, one question at a time.

This is a place for honesty, hope, and connections.

Why Me → When everything changes, the first question is often “Why me?” This page explores the weight of that question, and why asking it matters.

What Now → When the shock begins to soften, the next question becomes “What now?” This page offers gentle guidance on taking the next step toward healing and meaning.
